Time to make yourself a brew and get to know our new Developer Paul.
What made you want to join Machine Compare?
Everyone seemed to share the same mission to transform a start-up into a major player in the eCommerce sector. That and the team are so friendly too.
What’s your favourite emerging tech and why?
I helped create a Data Centre for the Professional Fees and Rebate Service from the ground up. Installing infrastructure, hardware, networking, telephony and software. I was impressed with the whole philosophy of data storage, data availability & processing.
What do you like and dislike about your new job?
I do like returning to the e-commerce sector, especially in B2B. What I dislike about the job? No arcade machines in the office. (Paul, watch this space).
What are your favourite things to do outside of work?
I started 3D modelling in 1998 at Salford University during my master’s in computer science. Using Soft Image and Infini-D, I then migrated to Blender 3D in the early 2000’s. Currently, I’m building a fitness app for Android devices. I’m hoping my 3D skills will come in useful creating human figures performing different exercises.
What are you most looking forward to in your new job?
Suggesting new approaches to developing e-commerce technologies. I know that some of my ideas may not be suitable. However, I’ll be happy that I’ve started a discussion that may lead to future benefits for Machine Compare.
