This week we welcome Harre Medemblik to our growing Agent Network.
Get the full low down on who Harre is and the territories he’ll be covering in our latest interview.
Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
My name is Harre Medemblik. I am married and have three daughters and six grandchildren.
I am from the Netherlands, Holland, and I started my own consulting company in March 2015 – Pro Corr.
From 2015 until 2019, I worked as an independent technical service specialist for Powerflute Oyi. After Powerflute became part of Mondi I’am now working as an independent service specialist for Mondi.
Prior to this I worked for BHS from 2006 – 2015 as a process trainer and since 2007 as a specialized trainer for the WCS (process control system).
Now that I have established my own Company, Pro-Corr, my key customers are Mondi, International Papers and other leading corrugator companies.
Before I started as a process trainer at BHS, I worked for the Dutch government as a Process Analyst in the Environmental Safety Department. There I analyzed all kinds of processes in different kinds of factories seeking possibilities to reduce production resources, waste and pollution in accordance to Dutch and European environment laws and to issue permits according to these laws.
Looking at the corrugated industry from the point of view of my former occupation, I often see significant improvement opportunities in corrugated plants.
What categories and territories will you be covering as Machine Compare’s agent?
Corrugated and Paper industry.
What attracted you to join Machine Compare?
The amazing concept and the fact the organisation is dedicated to reducing the unnecessary production of spare parts.
What do you love most about our industry?
The sustainability credentials. 98 % recyclable product (cardboard) and the fact this is an industry where there is still a lot to gain regarding process optimization.
Is there anything you’d like to change?
The Corrugated industry is an industry where operator education and process training is still not the most natural thing in the world. And that should be changed in my opinion to reduce all kind of resources.
It feels like overnight the world has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Do you think there are positives to come from the crisis in a business sense?
Yes, more online training. Trouble shooting will also be possible soon from a distance. This is what we are working on.
I get the sense you’re well-travelled thanks to the industry we’re in. Where has been your favourite place to visit on business?
Scandinavia, Italy, Europe in general, and New-Zealand.
And finally, now we know a little more about you at work. What hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I love sports, modeling planes, tennis, surfing, jogging, biking, snowboarding, and spending time with my grandchildren.
